Joyce E. McCafferty, 80, of Bellefontaine passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 28, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

Joyce was born in Bellefontaine on December 7, 1936 to the late John Henry and Margaret (Varner) Henry McFadden. She was also preceded in death by a brother William Henry.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her great faith in her Lord and Savior enabled God’s light to shine through her in all things. She was a talented person who enjoyed sewing, gardening and baking. Joyce knew how to make a house a home and touched many lives with her warm hospitality. She was active in Children’s Ministries, including Awana, Child Evangelism and Joy Club. Joyce worked for 22 years as an office manager for Dr. William K. Bruce before retiring in 2001.

Joyce is survived by her husband Floyd R. McCafferty, whom she married on June 24, 1955 in Bellefontaine. She is also survived by her children: Sharon (Thomas) Collier, currently of Quercianella, Italy, Sheryl (Addison) Jago of Rushsylvania, Todd (Ann) McCafferty of Botkins and Syndy McCafferty of Huntsville; four grandchildren: Shannon Gilmore, Tony Jago, Sam McCafferty and Grace McCafferty; two great-grandchildren: Liam Gilmore and Jackson Jago; a sister Judy McCoy of Naples, Florida and a brother Larry McFadden of Greenville.

Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Pastor Gary Bragg will officiate a memorial service on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11am at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
