Joyce Ann Ritter

Joyce Ann Beightler Ritter, 79, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 9:50 pm at The Inn at Olentangy Trail, in Delaware surrounded by family.

She was born December 21, 1939 in Marysville, Ohio to Clarence and Bernice Beightler. She studied at Ohio University,

She married Jack (Carol) Ritter on April 26, 1959 in Marysville Ohio.

Joyce is survived by her sister, Nancy Traul, of Urbana Ohio, her daughter, Anne (TJ) Fitzpatrick, of Richmond Virginia, her son, Mike (Traci) Ritter, of Powell Ohio, her two granddaughters, Hannah and Rachel Ritter, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Bernice Beightler, and brother-in-law, Dr. Richard Traul.

Joyce was an avid reader. She enjoyed her summers on Cape Cod; loved creating advent calendars for The First Presbyterian Church Christmas Bazaar. She was a wonderful grandmother to her two granddaughters, attending all horse shows, volleyball and softball games.

She served on The Mary Rutan Foundation board, was treasurer of the Logan County Cancer Society, member of the downtown decorating committee for the Chamber of Commerce, member of The First United Presbyterian Church, on the board of directors of the Ohio Cancer Research Association, and Logan-Champaign Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Board board of directors.

Joyce loved refurbishing old homes with her friend, Marty Varian. She also worked with Marty at The Bookstore and More in Bellefontaine where she met many long-term friends.

Pastor Cheryl Siegenthaler will officiate a funeral service at 12Noon on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be from 10 to 12Noon Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of The Inn at Olentangy Trail and Capital City Hospice who took great care of Joyce.

The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
