The long awaited journey for Juanita “Dolly” Harshbarger, 81, to meet her Lord Jesus arrived Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 11:15 P.M. in her home at 442 Woodside Place in Bellefontaine, Ohio with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Huntsville, Ohio July 9, 1931, daughter of the late Reuben and Chasey Mae Shook Daines. On June 18, 1948, she married Lloyd Joseph Harshbarger in Zanesfield, Ohio. They were married for 53 years and 10 months upon his passing in April 2002.
The former Monroe High School alumni, gave tirelessly of her volunteer time to the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild for over 30 years, 13 years to the Bellefontaine Lions Club and was an active member of the Church of The Brethren in Bellefontaine. A homemaker, she always had waiting treats for her visiting great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the fellowship and lover of her family and was an avid reader.
Surviving are her four daughters, Laura (Donald) Brown, Roxanne (Bill) Woodruff, both of Bellefontaine, Phyllis (Dave) Fairchild of Rushsylvania, Ohio and Deborah (Dan) Craig of West Mansfield, Ohio and her one son, John J. Harshbarger of Russells Point, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Gloria Daines of West Liberty, Ohio and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Merl Harmon and Pearl Sines; three brothers, Frank Clark, Lewis Martin and Jack Daines, and one great grandson, Daniel Couturier.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, with Pastor Fred Clogg officiating. Calling hours are from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Rushsylvania Cemetery in Rushsylvania, Ohio.
