Judith Cornelius Crater passed away February 15, 2014, peacefully at her home following a short battle with cancer.
Judy was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio January 6, 1943, to the late Albert D. and Mary Ann Cornelius. She was a life-long member of the Harper United Methodist Church and a 1960 graduate of Rushsylvania High School. She enjoyed a career in the secretarial and managerial fields in Ohio, Kentucky, and with her husband in North Carolina, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Grand Cayman Island, BWI.
She married D. Dwight Crater in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina April 21, 1974. Dwight passed away October 21, 1987, and was buried in the men’s section of the New Philadelphia Moravian Church Cemetery in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Joseph L. Cornelius and John A. Cornelius, and one sister, Sally A. Lee.
Survivors include her sister, Susan J. (Dennis) Weiser; nephews, Jeff Cornelius, Jerry Lee, Scott (Erie) Lee, Andy Weiser and Chad (Hillary) Weiser; nieces, Julie Crissinger and Jill (Brett) Hudson; great-nieces and nephews, Ciara (Daniel) Irick, Natalie Cornelius, Stanzi (Steve) Woolum, Matthias (Emily) Pattison, Mitchell Hudson, Madeline Crissinger, Monica Crissinger, and Haley Weiser; and five great-great-nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 1 to 4 P.M. where the funeral service will be conducted at 4 P.M. by Daniel Irick. Private family interment will be in the Harper Cemetery the following day.
