Karen Sue Bolen

Karen Sue Bolen, 74, of Jamestown, Ohio, passed away at 11:28 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at her residence.

She was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 31, 1948, the son of Forest Leslie Green, who survives in Kettering, and the late Ella Mae (Bartlett) Green.  She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Buckner and the father of her children, Gary E. Bolen.

She is survived by a daughter, Christina Lynn Bolen, a son, Gary (Lori) Bolen, six grandchildren: Joshua (Chasity) Buckner, Jamie Buckner, Sydney (Chris) Crabtree, Kristy Buckner, Cameron Bolen, and Jordan Bolen, six great grandchildren: Sean, William, Westley, Vincent, Caylee, and Luke, two brothers, Tim (Linda) Green and Forest Leslie Green, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Karen worked for and retired from General Electric.  She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1689 Xenia for 23 years.  She was a safe haven for her kids and her grandchildren, and was referred to as Switzerland, because she never truly picked sides, but you knew she was always in your corner.  She was always there if you needed a place to stay or a shoulder to lean on.

There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, June 25, 2023, from 3 to 6pm at Garrett’s Place, 27 N Limestone St, Jamestown, OH 45335.
