Karen “Sue” Jackson, age 70, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2014 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio.
Sue was born in Bellefontaine February 11, 1944, to the late Harold E. and Eunice I. (Taylor) Brunson. She was also preceded in death by her sister Sharon Costello; two daughters and a great-grandson.
Sue is survived by her husband James L. Jackson of Bellefontaine, whom she married February 12, 1988 in Bellefontaine; three daughters, Beverly Ann Orahood of Bellefontaine, Terri (Jerry) Ropp of Bellefontaine and Vickie (Rick) Dunlevy of West Liberty; three sons, Charles “Randy” (Kim) Hengsteleter of Bellefontaine, Jimmy (Sue) Jackson of Delaware, Ohio and Mark Jackson of Tennessee; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sondra Billings of Winter Haven, Florida, Patricia (Tom) Simpson of Bellefontaine, Elaine Longerbeam of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Becky (Wayne) Major of Bellefontaine; two brothers, Dale (Gundi) Brunson of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Steve Brunson of Hollywood, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sue worked as a bartender at the American Legion, VFW, and the Elks Lodge, where she retired in 2012. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, playing Solitaire and spending time with her grandkids.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 13, 2014, at 11 A.M. at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio with Gene Marine officiating.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
