Kathleen Schoffner

Kathleen M. Schoffner, 86, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 04, 2009 at her residence. She was born July 16, 1923 in Greenfield, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Anneca (Kemp) Cox.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell G. Schoffner; a son, Russell James Schoffner; a sister and a brother.

Surviving are her children, William F. “Bill” Schoffner of Bellefontaine and Gloria J. Barker of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Ernestine Stevens of Bellefontaine and Evelyn (Bert) Moore of Urbana, Ohio; grandchildren, Thomas and Deborah Schoffner and Bryan and Greg Winborne.

An LPN, Kathleen worked at Heartland of Bellefontaine and Mary Rutan Hospital. She retired from the Marion General Hospital and the Community Med Center in Marion.

She was a member of the West Liberty Church of God and the Shawnee Springs Senior Citizen. She enjoyed cooking, painting, playing the piano and loved to travel.

Rev. Ron Irick will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Calling hours will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Chapel Heights Memorial Garden in Marion, Ohio.
