Kathryn F. Dearwester, 67, of Bellefontaine, wife of Paul Dearwester, passed away Monday, February 20, 2107, at Logan Acres Care Center.
She was born in Bellefontaine on May 21, 1949 to the late Fay and Estella (Detrick) Huffman, who survives at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Jones; and brother, Ken Huffman.
She and Paul were married on July 22, 1967 and lived in Bellefontaine their entire married life.
Kathryn is also survived by a son, Mark (Adriene) Dearwester of Bellefontaine; daughters, Ida (Charles) Adkins of DeGraff and Katy (CJ) Hostetler of West Liberty; a brother, Keith (Beth) Huffman of Bellefontaine; sisters, Kathleen (Charles) Kerns of Huntsville and Linda (Greg) Shipley of Urbana; nine grandchildren, Sarah Rowe, Eli, Olivia, Matthew and Naomi Dearwester, Kaylee, Riley and Lyddia Adkins, Austin and Rachel Hostetler; and one great granddaughter, Kinslee Bank. She is also survived by in-laws, James Dearwester, William Dearwester, John (Sue) Dearwester, Lucy Whitehead, Ida Frederick, Francis Thatcher, Homer (Mary) Dearwester and Harry (Peg) Dearwester along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She loved her family dearly and attended many of their sporting activities, as well as the Hostetler children fair shows with their animals. She went on some bus trips with her sister-in-law and best friend, Lucy Whitehead, and to the Casino in Columbus. She always watched NASCAR, with Jeff Gordon being her favorite. Kathryn, along with her sister, Nancy would always express their opinion to you whether you wanted it or not.
She worked at Mary Rutan Hospital for 35 years in various departments and retired from there.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
