Kathryn A. "Cookie" German

Kathryn A. “Cookie” German, 79, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, East Campus, Columbus.

She was born in Champaign County, Ohio on April 8, 1945, the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna (Conrad) Martindale.

On April 11, 1992, she married Daniel J. German, and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her six siblings: Elsie (Ernie) Sharp, Martha (Si) Cornwell, M. Evelyn Bell, Ralph (Becky) Martindale, Betty (Bill) Predmore, and Charlie Martindale.

She is survived by four sons, Rick Price, Randy (Tammy) Price, Greg (Melinda) Price, and Michael (Theresa) Riley, 12 grandchildren; Bobbie (Quinton) Cooley, Brittany (Trey) Shropshire, Shenna (Russ) Oswalt, Amanda Lowry, Taylor Price, Hailee (Dawson Miller) Price, Kaylee Cox, Kimber Price, Ethan Riley, Brooke (Kerry) Craig, Dusty Archer, and Adam (Leaha) Archer, 19 great grandchildren, and her longtime friend, Shirley “Sis” Knight, who the family wishes to thank for her care and love over the years. The family also wishes to thank the caring staff of Logan Acres during Cookie’s time there.

Cookie worked most of her career in service and hospitality, working as a caretaker and later as a waitress. She raised her four ornery boys the right way with love, and often some tough love along the way. Her sons always knew who was boss. She loved her family and taking care of them was always her top priority. She was a friend to many and will be remembered as a caring, kind lady. She enjoyed playing BINGO and taking trips to the casino.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 1 until 5 p.m. in the Harold Kerr American Legion #173, 120 Colton Ave, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
