Kathryn E. Goldberg, 86, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, August 10, 2013 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio August 17, 1926, to the late Leroy and Winifred (Conroy) Adkins. On January 1, 1947, she married Harry E. Goldberg in Columbus, and he preceded her in death in 2006. Kathryn was also preceded in death by three infant sons.
Kathryn is survived by two daughters, Melody (Roger) Alcorn of Morehead, Kentucky and Jacqueline Carol Halloran of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a son, Gary Edward (Donna) Goldberg of Lakeview, Ohio; five grandchildren, Ryan (Tiffany) Black, Joshua (Jennifer) Black, Amanda (Greg) Carr, Michael Goldberg, and Kodee (TJ) Marquis; two step-grandchildren, Tony Halloran and Beth (John) Lister, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Kathryn worked at Bulldog/Siemens in Bellefontaine and later worked as a cook at Valley Hi Ski Resort. In the 1940’s, she worked in the surgery department at Mary Rutan Hospital. Kathryn eventually moved to New Mexico and worked as a cook at several colleges and sororities. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine, she was an active member of the Priscella Circle and Sunday school.
A memorial service celebrating Kathryn’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine with Pastor Ed Beale officiating.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
