Kay Abraham, 73, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 5:26 A.M. Sunday, September 30, 2012 in her home.
She was born in Bellefontaine March 11, 1939, to the late Virgil and Alice (Newforth) Knowlton.
On May 8, 1960, she married Richard Abraham in Bellefontaine, and he survives, along with their two sons; Scott (Julie) Abraham and Daryl (fiance’ April Donnelly) Abraham, both of Bellefontaine; two grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Abraham; a sister, Ann (Wayne) Jerviss of Bellefontaine and step sisters Joyce (Denny) Dyer and Noreen (Ron) Adkins both of Vandalia, Ohio. A brother, Jack Ross Knowlton and step father, William Bowdle preceded her in death.
Kay worked as a secretary at the CENTURY 21 The RHA Group Realty Inc. office in Bellefontaine. She was a member of the Bellefontaine United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir, teaching Sunday school and King’s Daughters. She was also a poll worker and presiding judge for the Logan County Board of Elections for more than thirty years. An avid reader and cook, Kay enjoyed traveling and meeting new people, and was known for faithfully sending cards to others for special occasions.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with Gene Marine officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 2, 2012, from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
