L. E. “Gene” Ginn

L. E. “Gene” Ginn, age 65, of Bellefontaine, went to be with the Lord at 11:09 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born in Bellefontaine on May 10, 1953 to the late Leslie E. Ginn and Mary Elizabeth (Brugh) Cummings.

Along with his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a brother, Frank “Mike” Ginn.

On January 25, 1980, he married the former, Angela Lattimer and she survives.

He is also survived by sons, Jesse Ginn and Chad Ginn; daughters, Amber (Matt) Nease, Andrea (Scott) Striggow, and Ashley (Bart) Patterson; grandchildren, Hayden and Holden Nease, Allyson and Kierce Ginn, Milo and Finn Patterson, Landyn and Blake Ginn, and Nora and Marcie Striggow; siblings, Margaret E. (Oral) Prater, Thomas H. (Elizabeth) Ginn, Janie M. (Gary) Payne, and Teresa L. (Jack) Watts; and several nieces and nephews.

Gene attended Logan Hills Schools and Bellefontaine High School. He was “street smart” and had an entrepreneur spirit from the time he was a kid. He opened and succeeded many small businesses in Bellefontaine and West Liberty. Gene worked on the railroad, owned Ginn’s Construction, which built retaining walls at Indian Lake, owned Russells Point Auto, Car World, Liberty Motors, Marysville Motors, Hi Point Motors, and most recently the owner of TP Lanes and was a member of the YMCA. His hobbies were racing at Shady Bowl, golfing, loved going out to dinner, spending time at their home in Florida, and watching his grandkids events. He was such a wonderful and giving man, husband, father, and papaw. He was deeply adored and will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the First Church of God, 1000 E. Brown Ave, Bellefontaine. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the church. Burial will follow in the Bellefontaine Cemetery.

Gene gave the ultimate gift of being an organ and tissue donor.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
