LaQuita O. Roach, 79, of DeGraff, passed away peacefully at 5:02 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Hardin County, Ohio on April 5, 1937 to the late Oved and Catherine Belle (Shipp) Krisher. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lamon Krisher.
On June 19, 1960 LaQuita married Donald Eugene Roach at the United Methodist Church in DeGraff, Ohio and he survives; along with their two sons, Curtis (Rebecca) Roach and Scott (Misty) Roach, both of DeGraff; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Kelli, Matthew, Cody, Courtney, and Ashley Roach; two sisters, Sharon (David) Proffitt of Bellefontaine and Patricia Scanlan of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from DeGraff High School in 1956, LaQuita completed Airline Flight Attendant School in St. Louis. She also worked at DAB for several years and then worked as an Educational Aid for Riverside Public Schools for 25 years. During that time she enjoyed working with children. LaQuita was a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church, DeGraff Garden Club, Kings Daughters and had been a member of the former Constance Chapter O.E.S. in DeGraff.
LaQuita was a life-long resident of Logan County. She was a also a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and her specialty was homemade noodles and pies. In her retirement years she loved flowers and became a Master Gardener attending to her beautiful flower gardens. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her family, friends and her pets. She was also blessed to spend time watching each of her grandchildren.
Rev. Ken Neighoff will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. Visitation will be Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday. Burial will follow in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
