Laurie A. Clark, 49, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away, after a courageous fight with complications associated with diabetes, at 12:40 A.M. Friday, August 19, 2011 at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Born June 18, 1962 in Bellefontaine, she was the daughter of Lester Duane and Ruth (Holycross) Wooddell. Her father preceded her in death December 12, 1985.
She was a 1980 graduate of Riverside High School. On February 14, 1986 she married Randy Clark in DeGraff, Ohio, and he survives.
In addition to her husband and mother, Laurie is survived by a daughter, Ruth Clark of Lakeview, Ohio; a son, Joshua Clark of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Kolton and Lilliann Rice; brothers, Chris (Carrie) Wooddell of St. Paris, Ohio, Joe (Missy) Wooddell of DeGraff, Tim (Zorica) Wooddell of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Shannon Wooddell of Columbus; aunts and uncles; Alice and Ralph Mangen, Judy Cost of Versailles Ohio, Donald Wooddell of Troy, Ohio, William Wooddell of Covington, Ohio, Tempa and Delmar Cox of West Liberty, Ohio, Jackie Holycross of Texas, Betty Black of Bellefontaine, Shirley L. Johnson of Sidney, Ohio, Maynard Alspaugh of Piqua, Ohio, and Mary Lou McCoy, Don and Joan Holycross, Carroll and Sally Holycross, Darrell and Pat Holycross, Aaron and Ruth Holycross, and Lois Holycross, all of Bellefontaine; nieces and nephews; Ashton, Andrew, Sophia and Sonja Wooddell; dozens of cousins and a multitude of friends. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Wooddell; four uncles, Richard C. Johnson, Charles Holycross, Raymond Holycross and Herb Black; and five aunts, Lois Forsythe, Joan Alspaugh, Agnes Murray, Alice Davis and Ruby Wooddell.
A member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Laurie enjoyed crocheting, loved her grandchildren, and loved life!
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, with Pastor Rob Kilgore officiating. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 23, 2011, from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in care of the family.
The funeral arrangements were handled by the staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
