Leonard J. Dinovo, 83, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 in the Emergency Room at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine, Ohio.
He was born in Bellefontaine on June 26, 1931, a son of the late Frank and Augusta (LaMantia) Dinovo. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Kritzer; brothers, August “Gus” Dinovo, Ted Dinovo, John Dinovo and Frank Dinovo.
On February 7, 1959 in Bellefontaine, he married the former Virginia F. “Ginny” (Petty) Dinovo and she preceded him in death on July 18, 2014.
He retired from Dinovo Inc. Auto Dealership and operated the former Radio Cab in Bellefontaine with his brothers. A Navy Veteran of the Korean War, he was also a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and former District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus and formerly on the Calvary Cemetery Board.
Survivors include a daughter, Anna Marie (Robert) Schumacher of Cincinnati; a son, Christopher Dinovo of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Kevin Schumacher, Kristin Schumacher, Daniel Dinovo, Natalie Dinovo, Matt Baughman; great-grandson, Brody; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Angie Dinovo, Butch & Ellen Petty, Shirley Short, Rachael Fitzpatrick; and several nieces and nephews.
Father Kenneth Baker will conduct a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 328 East Patterson, Bellefontaine. Friends may call on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 North Main Street, Bellefontaine. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Military rites by the Logan County Honor Guard.
