Leonard Hugh Sosby, 73, of Jackson Center passed away at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Middletown, Ohio on September 18, 1942, the son of the late Leonard Avery and Cleta Marie (Graham) Sosby. He is preceded in death by his son, Danny Sosby in 2007.
On September 9, 1961 he married the former Mary Golliday and she survives in Jackson Center along with their daughter, Jodi (Kelly) Morris of Aiken, SC, three sons; Donnie (Kathy) Sosby of Bellefontaine, Deron (Sherri) Sosby and Dwaine (Tina) Sosby, both of Jackson Center, a daughter-in-law, Tina Sosby of Jackson Center, 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a brother, Chet (Judy) Sosby of Jackson Center and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hugh worked as a supervisor for Superior Coach in Lima and was a long-time member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine. After retirement, he went back to work for the Village of Jackson Center, which he enjoyed. He liked being outside as well as cutting wood, but loved watching his grandchildren compete in sporting events.
Father Dan Hunt will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine. Visitation will be on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike St. Jackson Center. Burial will be in the church cemetery following services.
