Leslie E. Smucker

Leslie E. Smucker age 67, of East Liberty, Ohio went to be with The Lord Thursday morning, July 27, 2017 at Mary Rutan Hospital emergency room in Bellefontaine, Ohio.  He was born in Bellefontaine June 15, 1950, to the late Wilbert F. and Emma L. (Breneman) Smucker.  Les was also preceded in death by a brother Curtis Smucker.

A 1968 graduate of West Liberty Salem High School, Les served in the Ohio National Guard from 1970-1976.  He worked for thirty five plus years at Glacier-Daido and was a team leader.  In his spare time, Les enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and was an avid Ohio State fan.  Family was important to him and he treasured the time they spent together.

Les is survived by his wife, Christina (Carpenter) Smucker of East Liberty whom he married May 23, 1970 at the Grace Chapel Church in West Liberty, Ohio.  He is also survived by sons Jason J. (Amber) Smucker of East Liberty and Noah C. Smucker of Urbana, Ohio; three grandchildren Brittany N. Smucker, Alyssa R. (David Miller) Smucker, and Savannah B. Smucker; a great-grandson Ryder A. Miller; his brothers Russ (Linda) Smucker of Zanesville, Ohio, Ron (Kathleen) Smucker of Galion, Ohio and Kendal (Gloria) Smucker of Portland, Oregon; a sister, Lorene (Mark) Carpenter of Bellefontaine and several nieces and nephews.

Pastor Wayne Downing will officiate the funeral service Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11A.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.   Burial will be at the East Liberty Cemetery in East Liberty.
