Lester "Leon" Snyder, Jr. died in Christ Monday, January 29, 2018 at the age of 75. He was born July 11, 1942, to the late Lester and Helen Snyder of Belle Center, Ohio. Also preceding him in death was a baby sister Paula and a brother, Allen Snyder.
He was a 1960 graduate of the Belle Center High School and served in the Air Force from 1961-1965. He married Judith Ann Prall July 22, 1961, and she survives with their three children, Paula (Greg) Dappert of Belle Center, Lester III (Stephanie) Snyder of Belle Center, and Jessica (Charles) Amy of Granville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Heather (Justin) Wisniewski, Laura (Tristin) Harshfield, Kayla and Lauren Snyder; three great-grandchildren, Kinnley and Lainey Harshfield, Zane Wisniewski; a brother, Stephen (Jo Anne) Snyder and sister-in-law, Rose Mary Snyder along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Leon retired from General Dynamics and Sypris Solutions as a journeymen electrician. He was an airplane enthusiast and a member of the EAA and had his pilot's license. He was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Logan County History Center.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center and again 9:30 A.M one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.
Pastor Eric Cook will officiate the funeral service at 10:30 A.M. Saturday February 3, 2018 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran's Honor Guard.
The staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center assisted the family with the arrangements.
