Lillian J. Crowley, 75, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She was born in Brooklyn, New York April 26, 1933, to the late Phillip and Lillian (Grogan) Foley. On June 13, 1953, she married Charles C. Crowley in Brooklyn, New York, and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2001.
Surviving are 2 sons, Charles C. Crowley Jr. of Bellefontaine, and Michael A. (Ginger) Crowley of Kingston, New York; 2 daughters, Elizabeth (Wilbur) Hild III of DeGraff, Ohio, and Gale E. Crowley of Bellefontaine; a sister, Eleanor Foy of North Carolina; and 4 grandchildren, Michael Jr., Ginelle, Maryann and Brian Crowley. She was preceded in death by a twin sister, Betty Foley.
Lillian was a school bus driver and a crossing guard with the Bellefontaine City School system. She enjoyed working with the students. She never knew a stranger and loved being with her family.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Bellefontaine Cemetery at a later date.
In memory of Lillian, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Logan County Cancer Society P.O. Box 463 Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311.
