Lillian Hoover, age 108, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 16, 2019 at Campbell Place in Bellefontaine.

She was born in Lewistown, Ohio January 17, 1911, the daughter of the late Homer T. and Clara (Huber) Miller.

Lillian married Leland Hoover January 28, 1935, and he preceded her in death April 27, 1969.  She was also preceded in death by sons Larry L. Hoover and James R. Hoover; a brother, Huber K. Miller and a great-grandson Trevor.

Lillian is survived by two daughters-in-law, Julia Hoover of Millersport, Ohio, and Martha Hoover of Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandchildren, Melissa (Michael) Hoover-Connor, Rebecca Hoover, Michael (Elizabeth) Hoover, Susan Hoover, Kathleen Hoover, and Brian (Tanya) Hoover; great-grandchildren, Alex, Eric, Luke, Grace, Isabelle, Claire, Ian, Evan, Robert, Derek (Erin), and Tyler.

A 1929 graduate of Lewistown High School, Lillian belonged to the Harrison Grange and Farm Bureau Council #8, was a Past Matron and seventy-plus year member of Bellefontaine Chapter #459 Order of Eastern Star and Past Worthy Matron at Jackson Center when she lived on the farm. She was a member of the Bellefontaine Chapter of D.A.R.

Lillian grew up on the farm and helped with all the farm work.  She loved to garden and work with the flowers.  Lillian also loved to cook and bake – especially pies.  When on the farm, she and her family all joined Muchinippi Church.  Later in her life, when she moved to Bellefontaine, she attended the First United Methodist Church and appreciated everything they did for her.

Pastor Ben Shaeffer will officiate the funeral service Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11 A.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine, where visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.

Burial will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.

The arrangements are being handled by the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
