Linda Diane Dearwester, 66, of Lakeview, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at her home. She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on March 9, 1949 to the late William and Leona (Thaxton) Summers. She was also preceded in death by her son Martin Patrick “Bird” Hurley; a grandson Antonio Dearwester; a sister, Sharon Godwin; and three brothers, Robert, Ken and Paul “Bud” Summers.
On December 4, 1986, Linda married Steve Dearwester in Russells Point, Ohio and he survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Melissa (Ray) Donegan; granddaughter, Stacy (Lee) Yelton and great grandchildren Haylee, Rylee, Brantlee and Kinlee; grandson, Devin (Megan Gross) Miller and great grandchildren Kylee, Brooklynn and Miley; grandson Dylin (Shelby) Miller; granddaughter Harmony; a son Matthew A. (Crystal) Hurley; granddaughter Ashlie (Mike Cox) Hurley, granddaughter Katie (Michael Emery) Hurley; great grandson, Ryvre Emery, grandchildren, Icess & Sevenn Hurley; son, Marc Lowell (Ruthann K.) Hurley and their children Justin A. Hurley, Jessica A. Hurley and Jakob A. Hurley; a son, Steven E. (Amanda) Dearwester Jr. and their children Steven E. Dearwester III, Alexis M. Dearwester and Meghan L. Dearwester; a daughter, Becky (Rick) Gatwood and their children Micah & Izack Gatwood; a son, Benjamin E. (Sheila) Dearwester and their children Angel R. Dever & Benjamin B. “Baby Blue” Dearwester; a daughter, Kimberly A. (Ricky) Stanley; a grandson Ricky Shane (Amanda) Stanley; great grandson, Pave Stanley, and grandson Jonny Stanley; a son, Joshua W. (Kat) Dearwester and their children, Benicio Dearwester, Elicia Dearwester, Makayla Savino & Brayden Dearwester; two sisters, Jane Dye and Margaret Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
A 1968 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Linda was a member of the Russells Point Church of God. She was a selfless Christian woman who loved the Lord. She was an avid lover of animals and always put the needs of others before her own. Linda was well known for remembering her family and friends during special occasions in their lives, and would always remember to send them a card.
Bonnie Reprogle will officiate a funeral service at 12 noon on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine where visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
