Linda Prater-Cianfrano

Linda Prater-Cianfrano was taken from us unexpectedly as a result of domestic violence on December 20, 2022, at her home in Orlando, Florida. She was born on April 11, 1951, to the late William and Ruth Curtin at Kenton Memorial Hospital in Kenton, Ohio.

On September 9, 1972, Linda married Robert D. Prater and he preceded her in death in May of 1995. She remarried in July 2000.

Linda is survived by her four children, Robert A. Prater of Kenton,  Douglas T. (Lisa) Prater of Lima, Jon (Shelly) Prater of Belle Center, and Debbie (Brian) Kelly of Rushsylvania; eight grandchildren, Christina (Cody) Matte, Kayla (Tommy) Steinberger, Justine (Ethan) Sites, Peyton Flint (Bryce Tucker), Mason Flint, Jase Prater, Clinton (Vickie) Johns, and Jamie (Rob) Taylor; 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; five siblings, Sharon Ruse, Pam Floyd, Susie (John) Delong, Kathy Boatwright, and Shawn (Kelley) Biederman; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Boother, a grandson, Brandon Johns; and very special father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert & Ruby Prater. She recently lost her sweet little dog Sassy who was 17 years old.

Linda graduated from Kenton High School. She attended The Ohio State University, worked at Ohio Northern University, Wilson Sporting Goods in Ada, and was a pre-school Sunday school teacher for many years at the McGuffey Church of Christ where she and her family resided for many years before moving to Florida. Linda retired from the pediatric office of Dr. Savona in Oviedo, Florida earlier this year. She was a devoted Christian who belonged to the St. James Cathedral in Orlando, Florida. She had a heart of gold. She cherished her family and always looked for the good in everyone! She was the mom, aunt, grandma that would take a day to babysit and bake Christmas cookies, do crafts, and play the piano as they all sung Christmas carols so her siblings could shop for gifts. Our mother will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her. God truly gained an Angel!
