Lloyd E. Davis

Lloyd E. Davis, 77, of Sidney, Ohio and formerly of DeGraff, Ohio went to be with Jesus at 1:30 A.M. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at St. Rita's Hospice in Lima, Ohio following complications from surgery. He was born November 19, 1939, in Hobbieville, Indiana, a son of the late Grover and Emma (Miller) Davis.

He attended a one room schoolhouse through the eighth grade and graduated in 1957 from Solsberry High School in Solsberry, Indiana.

Lloyd proudly served in the United States Navy from 1957-1960, receiving a hardship discharge due to the death of his father and younger siblings at home.

On July 22, 1961, he married the love of his life, Sharon F. Boshears, in Bloomington, Indiana. In their fifty five faithful years together, they enjoyed renovating and building several houses, gardening, shopping for the next great bargain and, most of all, spending time with their family and friends. And let's not forget, she loved to cook and he loved to eat!

In 1966, he moved to Ohio as a regional manager for Motorists Mutual Insurance. In 1969, he purchased the Hostetler Insurance Agency in DeGraff and successfully operated it until his retirement in 2006. Lloyd loved helping people and never met a stranger.

Through the years, his hobbies were trapshooting, horse racing and DIY, but his infatuation was Indiana University men's basketball. His children and grandchildren have many wonderful memories of watching games with him. March was always a special month to him! He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Christian Davis, and brothers "Stub" Davis and Ralph Davis.

He is survived by his wife and children, Kim (Rick) Feasel of DeGraff, Scott (Jill) Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Lori (Darrell) Dammeyer of DeGraff; grandchildren, Tyler (Tracy) Feasel, Trenton and Jacob Feasel, Jordan and Jessica Davis, Erica Dammeyer, and Derek (Alicia) Dammeyer; great grandchildren, Ava and Gabby Dammeyer, and Tatum and Teagan Feasel; a sister, Maudie (Eddie) Burch; and two brothers, Pete (Mary Alice) Davis and "Dude" Davis, all of Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff. A remembrance service will follow beginning at 7 P.M. with Dr. Onva K. Boshears Jr. officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Cedar Point Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio.

The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
