Lois K. Overholt, 74, of West Liberty, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Champaign County on December 30, 1941 to the late Clarence D. and Mabel F. (Hostetler) Overholt. Along with her parents, Lois was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and John Overholt; brother-in-law, Dale Kauffman; and sister-in-law, Suzanne Overholt.
She is survived by her sisters, Irene Kauffman of West Liberty, Ann (Charles) Mellott of Springfield, and Emily Overholt of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; brother, Galen (Tammy) Overholt of Bellefontaine; sister-in-law, Jeneane Overholt of Urbana; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and a great-great nephew.
Lois was a registered nurse in Colorado, where she spent 30 years of her life and enjoyed it greatly. She worked for Mary Corwin Hospital in Colorado and also worked for Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Ohio. Lois enjoyed laughter, spending time with her family, Mexican food, camping, and the Rocky Mountains. She was a huge Denver Broncos fan and enjoyed watching quarterback, John Elway.
Pastor Dick Barrett will officiate an informal Celebration of Life service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2016 in the Fellowship Hall at Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 1525 Mennonite Church Rd, West Liberty. Burial will be at a later date in Oak Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery in West Liberty.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
