Lois Marie Pyle, 96, of Rosewood, passed away Tuesday morning, November 24, 2015 at Green Hills Care Center. She was born in Adams Township, Champaign County on March 17, 1919 to the late Marion and Imo (Hoffman) Hostetler. She married Hezekieah W. Pyle on February 14, 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1975. Lois was also preceded in death by brothers: Roger, Robert, Joe, James and Charles Hostetler.
A 1936 graduate of Harrison-Adams Township Schools, Rosewood, Lois was a member of the Rosewood United Methodist Church where she was also in the Women’s Society. She spent many hours crocheting afghans for family and loved ones. Her love of cooking left family and friends with many fond memories of meals, laughter and love. In her later years, Lois enjoyed playing Rummikub at Green Hills, where she was on the Resident Council Dining Committee and was a past member of Resident Council.
Lois is survived by a daughter Sylvia Jean (Eldon) Cheeseman of Springfield; son Frank Pyle of Sidney; grandchildren: Jeff Cheeseman, Tony Cheeseman, Tammy Barnett, Sue Garcia, Shawn Sharp, Melinda Goings, Tara Pence and Wade Shock; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister Clarabelle Plank of West Liberty and brother Karl Hostetler of West Liberty. Lois is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Mary and Mike Burroughs and Jim and Jeannette Hostetler for their love, support and care they provided over the years.
Pastor John LeIghty will conduct the funeral on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11am at Foundation Hall, Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio.
The Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, West Liberty assisted the family with arrangements.
