Lowell John Rickert, 79, of Jackson Center, Ohio, passed away at 6:43 A.M. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Shelby County Ohio March 5, 1934, to the late Irvin and Loretta (Evans) Rickert. He was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Rickert.
On June 25, 1955, he married the former Patricia Ambos and she survives. He is also survived by his son David Rickert of Botkins, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Karen Rickert of Botkins; five grandchildren, Jason (Julie) Rickert of Texas, Alyssa Rickert of Iowa, Stephanie Rickert of Botkins, Danielle Rickert of Texas and Katie Rickert of Botkins; three great grandchildren, J.J., Jaxon and Isabella Rickert; a sister, Lois Davis and a brother, Gene (Mary) Rickert, both of Kettlersville, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lowell worked forty four years at Copeland and twelve years at Holloway Sportswear before retiring. He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, where he had served on council and as a trustee. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time in the woods Lowell loved all sports and was a founding member of the Jackson Center Booster Club. He was especially supportive of his children and grandchildren, attending all of their sporting and extra-curricular activities.
Pastor Shannon Vogelezang will conduct the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Jackson Center. Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013, from 1 to 5 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be at the Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio.
