Lucille Daugherty

Lucille B. Daugherty, 93, of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty.

She was born March 11, 1919 in Edgerton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Arthur and Edith Heisler. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Lavon Heisler, Pauline and Velma Mast.

On July 15, 1939, she married Howard Day and he preceded her in death December 17, 1944, having been killed in the Battle of the Bulge. She then married George Daugherty November 30, 1948 in Edgerton, Ohio and he survives.

Surviving are her sons, John (Margel) Day of West Liberty; Jim (Dolores) Day of Millersport, Ohio; grandchildren, Ken Day, Steven Day, Sandra Ober, Susan Karg, Laura Day, Amy Adornetto; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Turner Adornetto, Eli Day, Courtney, Caylee and Conner Karg, Dayna and Jenna Ober, Taylor and Kelsey Day.

She was a school secretary for thirty years, working at the Belle Center Schools for twenty six years and at the Benjamin Logan central office for four years. She was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church, the Bellefontaine Chapter #459 O.E.S. and the Legion Auxiliary in Edgerton.

Pastor Cheryl Siegenthaler will conduct the funeral service at 2 P.M. Monday, June 4, 2012 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center, Ohio where friends may call from noon until time of the service. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
