M. Faye Fisher, 91, of West Liberty passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 in the Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty.
She was born on March 15, 1924 in Champaign County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold and Blanche (Bennet) Newton but was raised by her foster parents, the late Alfred & Elizabeth Yoder. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Gary Fisher, a son-in-law, Albert George, and three foster sisters, Clarabel, Laura Ellen and Lavina Yoder.
On August 20, 1944 in the Oak Grove Church, West Liberty she married Joe Arthur Fisher, and he survives along with their two daughters, Barbara George of Denver, CO and Brenda (David) Montgomery of Plain City, OH and one son, Dennis Fisher of Philippi, WV, eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Faye was a 1942 graduate of Salem High School. She was a member of the South Union Mennonite Church in West Liberty. She worked as a secretary at DeLong’s Appliance Store in Bellefontaine. She was a wonderful writer and poet.
A memorial service was held Sunday, September 6, 2015 in Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Liberty at a later date.
Eichholtz, Daring and Sanford Funeral Home, West Liberty assisted the family with arrangements.
