M. Juanita Lattimer, 83, of Urbana, passed away at 8:10 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 16, 1933 in Sweet Springs, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Byron and Leafy “May” (Walker) Carman.

On October 14, 1950 Juanita married Don Douglas Lattimer, Sr. in Richmond, Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Constance (Connie) Harshbarger; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol Peele and Larry Peele; a brother, Buck Carman; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bud Carman and Donna Carman; and a grandson A. J. Stafford.

Juanita is survived by her daughters Carolyn Carlson, Donna Lattimer, Bonnie (Steve) Peterson, and Teresa (Eric) Yoder; a son Don (Sarah) Lattimer, Jr.; brothers James (Nancy) Carman and Butch (Sharon) Carman; a sister-in-law, Marie Carman; grandchildren, Lindsay (Brendan) Sanders, Charlotte (Todd) McGuire, Wendy Shaffer, Jennifer Hall, Chad (Stacy) Mullen, Christy Mullen, Holly (Scott) Ahrenholtz, Michael Carlson, Doug (Heather) Hoffman, Debra Wilhelm, Dan (Michelle) Hoffman, Mark (Heather) Peterson, Brandy Koons, Beverly (Paul) Jackson, Heather Lattimer, Brad (Alicia) Stafford, Christopher (Erin) Stafford, and Zach Yoder; 40 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews; two foster children, John Helms & Family and John Casto & Family; and too many special friends to list.

A homemaker, Juanita was a graduate of Rosewood High School. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with family. Juanita and her husband were foster parents for nearly 15 years. They had over 50 children in their care and received the honor of being selected Foster Parent of the Year twice. She and her husband established and operated Lattimer Siding & Windows for many years. Juanita enjoyed taking “fall” trips, wintering in Florida with her husband, and going on mom and daugher trips every year.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in Degraff, Ohio at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
