Mabel E. Elliott, 95, of rural Bellefontaine passed away Thursday morning, October 22, 2015 at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born in Logan County on June 1, 1920 to the late Floyd and Eva (Wilgus) LeVan. Mabel married Stephen A. Elliott on October 4, 1937 in Newport, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on November 22, 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son Jerry Elliott; 2 sisters, Gladys Fout and Marie Robinson; 4 brothers, Leo LeVan, Lowell LeVan, Clark LeVan and Irvin LeVan.
Mabel was a homemaker and enjoyed working puzzle books, cooking and crocheting.
Mabel is survived by her daughter, Sharon (George “Buzz”) Gunning of Grant Pass, Oregon; sons, Ronald “Skeeter” (Linda) Elliott of Bellefontaine and Stephen “Rick” Richard (Connie) Elliott of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren: Dorisa, Lisa, Tony, Beverly, Troop, Stephanie and Cole; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister Lillian Davis of Bellefontaine; brother Floyd LeVan of Michigan and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Rosie LeVan and Elaine Glauner for the care and kindness they showed to Mabel.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 2pm at Northwood Cemetery with Chaplain Victor Brady officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center assisted the family with arrangements.
