Marcene Traucht

Marcene Gwenda (Garmatter) Traucht, 92, of West Liberty, went home to be with Christ, her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Green Hills Care Center.

She was born March 17, 1922 in Allen County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Calvin and Huldah (Badertscher) Garmatter.

On October 16, 1942, she married Herbert A. Traucht in Bluffton, Ohio and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2005. She is also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Traucht, a brother, Calvin Lynn Garmatter, and a sister JuLee Amstutz Chidester.

Her children; Kathy (Jay) King, Al (Kathy) Traucht of West Liberty, and Greg (Ellen) Traucht of Marysville, eight grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren will miss their mom, grandma, and great grandma. Two sisters; Doris (Robert) Hamman and Darlyn (Dean) Sommers, both are living in Bluffton, Ohio.

Marcene was a 1940 graduate of Bluffton High School and a member of Grace Chapel in West Liberty. She also belonged to the Garden Club and Home Extension Club. She and her husband enjoyed traveling with Airstream and Mennonite Heritage as well as many other trips including Switzerland and Israel. Gardening, puzzles, and crafts were her favorite hobbies. She was truly a friend to the Green Hills Community.

Pastor Dave Dernlan will officiate a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 in Foundation Hall of Green Hills Care Center, 6557 US 68, West Liberty, Ohio 43357. Private interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.

Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, West Liberty assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
