Margaret Furlong

Margaret L. Furlong, 79, of Zanesfield, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 7:45 P.M. at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born February 13, 1932 in Springfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jobie and Anna Erbaugh Riley. She also was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Brandon and Kristen Carpenter and a sister, Bernice Smith.

She married Richard Furlong November 28, 1948, and he preceded her in death.

She was a bus driver for Bellefontaine City Schools, and enjoyed crocheting and growing flowers.

Survivors include a son, Jerry (Susan) Furlong of New Mexico; two daughters, Linda (Kyle) Shirk of Belle Center, Ohio, and Deborah Carpenter of Russells Point, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Ryan Furlong, Nina Thompson, Daren Shirk, Holly McCombs, Anna Spriggs and April Spriggs; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Joe Riley of Pennsylvania and Dave Riley of Springfield, Ohio; sisters, Ethal Barnhart and Edith Riley, both of Springfield, Ohio, Marty LaVeck of Xenia, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pastor Fred Clogg will officiate the funeral service Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the North Greenfield Cemetery in Logan County Ohio.
