Margaret Vera Johnson

Margaret Vera (Deisher) Johnson, age 101, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 in the Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.

She was born on May 21, 1919 in Logan County, Ohio, the daughter of the late James Walter and Grace Maude (Davis) Deisher.

She married Charles Franklin “Frank” Johnson on October 15, 1939 and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1989.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son, John Johnson, a daughter, Elizabeth Anne “Betty” Douglas, an infant great grandson, Mark, three brothers, Walter, Wilbur, and Neil Deisher, two sisters, Beatrice Hover and Dixie Moury, and a daughter-in-law, Abigale (Robert) Johnson.

She is survived by four sons, Charles (Peggy) Johnson of Woodstock, NY, Robert Johnson of Columbus, OH, Donald (Lynn) Johnson of North Lewisburg, OH, and Thomas Johnson of Conroe, TX, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, Bellefontaine where she enjoyed babysitting for many years.  She was also a 78-year member of Harrison Grange, member of Logan County Pomona Grange, and Ohio State Grange.  She belonged to the Logan County Friendly Senior Center and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW #1080, Bellefontaine.

Pastor Joe Ziraldo will officiate a funeral service on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 12Noon in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, OH 43311.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery, West Liberty.
