Margaret L. “Pegg” Moffitt, 67, of Zanesfield passed away at 4:53 a.m. on Tuesday, January 06, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born in Logan County, Ohio on May 18, 1947 to the late Richard Frank and Louise (Burson) King.
On July 30, 1966 she married Ron Moffitt in East Liberty, Ohio and he survives. She is also survived by her three children, Kwyn (Jack Somerville) Moffitt of Dublin, Kara (Troy) Pack of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Kyle (Dr. Kristin) Moffitt of Woburn, Massachusetts; nine grandchildren, Tess Somerville, Alison Somerville, Kevin (Julie) Culp, Kayla Culp, Shawn Culp, Nathan Pack, Sarah Pack, Kaylor Moffitt and Jackson Moffitt; a brother, James (Nancy) King of Middleburg; a sister-in-law Margaret Gerrietts of West Liberty; and a brother-in-law Keith (Betsy) Moffitt of Delaware, Ohio.
Pegg worked as a legal secretary at Thompson, Dunlap & Heydinger Law Firm. She was instrumental in establishing the Tri-Valley EMS, and served as a volunteer member for over 30 years. A 1965 graduate of Logan Hills High School, Pegg was selected as the Zanesfield Citizen of the Year in 2005. She was also a long-time serving member of the Logan County Library Board. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing and quilting.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty. Visitation will be Thursday, January 8th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Zanesfield Cemetery in Zanesfield, Ohio.
