Margaret Phelps

Margaret “Peggy” R. Phelps, 71, of Huntsville, Ohio, passed away at her residence on Sunday, June 14, 2009. She was born in Clyde, Ohio, on March 6, 1938 to the late Larry and Margaret (Cable) Sanders.

On April 13, 1956, she married Clayton Phelps in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and he survives along with their sons, David Phelps of New York City, New York, and Jim (Phyllis) Phelps of Bellefontaine. Also surviving is a brother, Les Welch of Biloxi, Mississippi; and three grandchildren, Dan, Eric and Jared Phelps all of Bellefontaine.

Preceding her in death was a son, Douglas Phelps in 1969; and three sisters, Beverly Sanders, Dottie Kenny and Barbara Batesol.

Peggy was a active member of the Goshen Friends Church in Zanesfield, Ohio, and enjoyed raising flowers, playing the piano and making memories with her friends and grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Goshen Friends Church with Pastor Fred Kensler officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Food Pantry @Goshen Friends Church 5527 Road 153 Zanesfield, Ohio 43360.
