Marilyn Elizabeth Kinney, 83, of Rushsylvania, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born in Logan County on December 28, 1924, a daughter of the late John P. and Myrtle Mae Windham Johnson. She also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, DeeAnna M. Kinney Batton.
On September 1, 1942, she married Gilbert “Bud” Adams Kinney in Covington, Kentucky, and he survives, along with a son, John G. (Scarlett) Kinney of Ridgeway, Ohio; daughters, Karen E. (Thomas) Goff of Zanesfield, Ohio, and Kathleen A.K. (Gary) Davis of Rushsylvania; a sister, Marjorie Ramsey of Ridgeway; three grandchildren, Troy D. (Christie) Kinney, Kristin A. (Chad) Durian and Sara E. Goff; and two great-grandchildren, Miranda M. and Kyra R. Batton.
A devoted farmer’s wife, she attended the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking for her family and farm helpers, listening to music, singing hymns, and being with her grandchildren.
Rev. Paul Ramsey conducts the funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Rushsylvania, where visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, December 18. Burial is in the Equality Cemetery.
