Marilyn Joan “Pip” Sine, 82, of Zanesfield, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Heartland of Bellefontaine in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
She was born January 2, 1931, in West Liberty, Ohio to the late Mervin A. and Ruth Anna (Troyer) Hostetler. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, David “Bud” Hostetler and James P. Hostetler and a sister–in-law, Marjorie Lovell.
On March 16, 1956, she married James R. Sine in West Liberty, and he survives along with their daughters, Debra (Robert “Bob”) Newland of Bellefontaine, Carol Sue (Steve) Thompson of Zanesfield and Linda (Doug) Marquis of Bellefontaine; her siblings, William “Bill” (Lynn) Hostetler and Evelyn Joy (John C.) Plank, both of West Liberty; five grandchildren, Amanda (Andy) Hart, Erica Marquis, Brad and Megan Thompson and Cody Newland; sisters-in-law, Sue Hostetler and Shirley Hostetler, both of West Liberty, and many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Pip was a member of the Zanesfield United Methodist Church, the Zanesfield United Methodist Women and the Zanesfield American Legion Auxiliary. Known for her butterscotch pie, she enjoyed sewing, creating stained glass and loved spending time with her family and doing things for others. She was truly a giving person.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring and Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty. An 11:00 A.M. funeral service will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Zanesfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Gene Phelps officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Zanesfield Cemetery in Zanesfield, Ohio.
