Marjorie Bayless, age 99, of Ridgeway, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at Heartland of Bellefontaine in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
She was born February 8, 1915 in North Lewisburg, Ohio, the daughter of the late Homer Sr. and Gertrude (Clark) Howell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Lamont Bayless whom she married September 22, 1935 and he passed away in 1996; three children, Herschel Bayless in 2012, Kenneth Bayless in 2005, and Norma Jean Ratleff in 1996; two sisters, Velora Donaldson and Leota Stevens; four brothers, Clayton, Homer Jr., David, and Leonard Howell, and several grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Carlan (Robert) Ratleff, and David (Jodi) Bayless both of Delaware, Ohio and Teresa (Albert) Kirk of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two grandchildren that she raised, Kiki (Terrence) Ratleff-Horton of Urbana, Ohio and Davante Ratleff at home; 136 grandchildren; two sisters, Bettie (William) Grimes of Laguna Woods, California and Gwendolyn Adams of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Betty Howell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marjorie graduated from high school and worked as a household technician for many years cleaning banks and businesses all around Logan and Hardin Counties. Her greatest joy was her family, cooking, and having those wonderful happy holiday dinners. She loved to bake a special pie or cheesecake for someone on his or her birthday.
Rev. Frank McCullough and Elder Abraham Kenner will officiate the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Church of Christ in Ridgeway. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 3 to 7 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday.
