Marjorie R. Calland, 97, of DeGraff passed away Friday morning, August 12, 2016 at Hearth & Home at Urbana. She was born in Harrison Township, Champaign County on February 3, 1919 to the late John William and Bonnie Hazel (Hill) Rouse. Marjorie married Clemmeth R. Calland on June 7, 1937 in Union City, Indiana and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1980. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Wayne Calland and son-in-laws Robert Lee Anderson and Melvin Cook.

A 1937 graduate of Harrison Adams Schools – Rosewood, Marjorie was a loving mother who always put her family first. Family dinners were especially meaningful to her and she enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made each and every member of her family feel special in their own way.

Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Linda Anderson of DeGraff, Connie (James) Knief of Lewistown and Sue Cook of DeGraff; eight grandchildren: Meredith (Roger) Bodey, Beth (Mitch Pence) Anderson, Lisa (Jeff) Wren, Mark Knief, Laura (Bill) Bellman, Phil (Tina) Cook, Wayne (Debbie) Cook and Steve (Kara) Cook; 20 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Betty Huber of Anna; niece Janet Poppe and nephew Jack Huber.

Rev. Andy Leighty will officiate the funeral service on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 1pm at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St. DeGraff. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11am – 1pm. Burial will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the employees of Hearth & Home at Urbana and all the love and support from the many visitors that came to see Mom.
