Marjorie Sharron Fent, 84, of Bellefontaine, died May 12, 2018, at Logan Acres Care Center following complications of a stroke.
She was born on January 26, 1934, in Union Township, Logan county, daughter of the late Byron D. and Marjorie (Mohr) Stahler.
She lived in the family home until she married her high school sweetheart, James L. Fent on April 29, 1953 at the Philadelphia Lutheran Church. They celebrated their 50th anniversary by repeating their vows in April 2003, and he passed away on September 22, 2003. Also preceding Sharron in death was brother Clinton Stahler, sisters-in-law Norma Fent and Janet Chambers, and brother-in-law Carl Chambers.
Sharon was a loving daughter, wife and mother who leaves three daughters, Sharyl (Chuck) Verbsky of Mentor, Lisa (Steve) Kessler of Fairborn, and Karen (Greg) Wisse of Bellefontaine, grandchildren David Verbsky and Kathryn Turek, Nicklaus (Gail) Hess, Sarah (John) Franck, Tyler (Diana) Wisse, great-grandchildren, Julia and Nathan Brusky, Taylor Hall, Gatlin and Laken Ridgwell, sister Cinda (Michael) Hammond of Fairborn, brothers-in-law Bill Fent and Larry (Beverly) Fent of Bellefontaine and many nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong member of the Philadelphia Lutheran Church, where she served as an organist and a member of the Ladies Aid society. She belonged to the Fortnightly Music club which provided many happy, musical hours. She served as 4H leader for the Pine Needles sewing club and inspired many future seamstresses. She was a long-time bookkeeper at the former DeGraff Packing company, Craig’s Elevator in West Liberty, and for 20 years at PK Lumber until her retirement.
Many community members enjoyed cakes baked and decorated by Sharron when she had her home business that flourished from a hobby. She loved baking, cooking, playing the organ and piano, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed.
Pastor Cheryl Siegenthaler will conduct funeral services Friday, May 18 at 11:00am at Philadelphia Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. on Thursday, May 17, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
