Marshall J. Pierson III, age 76, of Bellefontaine, Ohio went to be with his Lord and reunited with his wife Julia, Friday, January 7, 2022.
Marshall was born in Utica, New York November 15,1945, to the late Mary Helen (Richardson) and Marshall J. Pierson II. He married Julia Ann Hevener March 18, 1977, and she preceded him in death December 22, 2021. Marshall was also preceded in death by sisters Anne Pierson and Susan Cutler.
Marshall is survived by children: Margaret Pask, Nicholas Pierson, Amanda (Justin) Blumer, Annie (Gabriel) McNutt, Kathleen “Katie” (Jason) Shade, Heather (Andrew) Martzke; 12 grandchildren: Ryanne, Nicholas “Cole”, David, Sonny, Mariah, Levi, Adelina, Ezekiel “Zeke”, Elora, Hannah, Sean, and Violet; siblings: Jack (Jan) Pierson, David (Karen) Pierson, Mary (Bill Bordages) Pierson, Michael (Ginny) Pierson, and Rob (Val) Pierson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marshall was a 1963 graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School and a member of the US Army Reserves. He later went on to graduate from Akron University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, then graduated from Ashland University with a Master of Divinity, a Ph.D. from Ashland Theological Seminary, and then obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling. As a servant of the Lord, Marshall worked as the Pastor of Pilgrim Fellowship, as a Clinical Counselor for many years, and by conducting Biblical research. He retired from Logan County Job & Family Services where he worked tirelessly to protect the elderly.
Memorial graveside services for Marshall and Julia will be held Friday, April 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Bellefontaine Cemetery with Pastor Philip Pokras officiating.
