Martha Cushman

Martha Cushman, 83, of West Liberty, passed away at her residence on Friday, May 8, 2015.

She was born in Champaign County, Ohio on January 30, 1932 to the late R.E. “Gene” and Evelyn (Ward) Hagans.

On September 15, 1957 she married Earl Cushman in Beloit, OH and he survives along with their children, Kathy (Ray) Etgen of West Liberty and Jay Cushman of Elyria, OH; grandchildren, Phillip (Michele) Etgen, Kyle Etgen, Cindy (Kevin) Williams, and Megan, Mollie and Miranda Etgen; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Whitney Etgen and Konnor Williams; and a sister, Mary E. “Liz” Foughty of West Liberty.

Martha retired in 1994 from the West Liberty Post Office.

She was a member and Deacon at the West Liberty United Church of Christ where she was in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was very active in the West Liberty community and with the Lions Club.

Martha loved being a Grandmother and enjoyed reading, baking pies and caned many chairs.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 2-4 to 6-8 pm at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty. Pastor Paul Forrey will officiate an 11am funeral service on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the West Liberty United Church of Christ with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
