Martha “Jean” Detrick, 82, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009, in her home. She was born in Champaign County December 27, 1926, a daughter of the late Henry and Martha M. Linebaugh Cost.
On August 31, 1973, she married Fred Neil Detrick in DeGraff, Ohio, and he passed away May 5, 2004. She also was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Davis, on January 1, 2003; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include a sister, Kathleen Geuy of Urbana, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Pamela Davis of DeGraff; grandchildren, Amy L. (Shannon) Schaffer of Jackson Center, Ohio, and Neil E. (Krista) Davis of Bellefontaine; two great-grandchildren, Nate and Mya Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosewood High School graduate and devoted homemaker, she worked at Copeland and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine.
She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed working in her flower garden and being with her family.
Rev. Rob Fulton will conduct the funeral service at 11 A.M. Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Burial will follow the service in the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
