Martha E. Jackson

Martha E. Jackson, age 102, passed away at 6:38 P.M. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Logan Acres Senior Community in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

She was born in Clay Township in Auglaize County Ohio November 14, 1916, to the late William R. and Meta M. (Boggs) Wert.

On July 3, 1937, Martha married Robert E. Jackson and he preceded her in death December 15, 1983. She was also preceded in death a daughter, Judy E. McCafferty and two brothers, Otto and Russell Wert.

Martha is survived by four children, Bobby (Lina) Jackson, Sue Kelly, Bub (Lynda) Jackson, and Maralyn (Jim) DeLong; five grandchildren, Todd (Holly) DeLong, Julie (Tom) Whitehead, Jana (Rick) Core, Keri Jo (Gabe) Kean, and Jim (Diana) Kelly; seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A 1934 graduate of Quincy High School, Martha retired from Merchants Industries in Bellefontaine following twenty five years of service. She was a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She also volunteered with the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild and was a member of the Miami Grange, Diggers Garden Club, and the Research Club. In her leisure time, Martha enjoyed her flowers, reading, and puzzles.

No public services will be observed.

Burial will be at the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.

The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
