Martha Shaner

Martha L. Shaner, 89, of Jackson Center, Ohio, passed away at 8:32 P.M. Friday, February 7, 2014, at the Fair Haven Shelby County Home in Sidney, Ohio. She was born in Logan County Ohio August 27, 1924, to the late Lewis and Louisa (Gross) Metz.

On April 5, 1947, she married Roy A. Shaner and he preceded her in death February 26, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Maddy; one sister and two brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Marcia (Dan) Burch of Lewistown, Ohio; two sons, Rick (Patricia) Shaner of Alaska and Tom (Pam) Shaner of Jackson Center; a son-in-law, Tom Maddy of Sidney; nine grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; twelve great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; one great-great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha was a seamstress and member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra, Ohio.

Pastor Shannon Vogelezang will conduct the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center. Interment will be at the Emanuel Cemetery in Montra.

The funeral arrangements were in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center.
