Mary Abshear

Mary Victoria Abshear, 94, of Newport, North Carolina, formerly of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009 at Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born in Logan County, Ohio on November 16, 1914, to the late William and Silvia Grubbs.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Abshear; 3 brothers, Earl, Sam and William “Bus” Grubbs; 3 sisters, Marie Vanmeter, Myrtle Fultz and Belva Grubbs.

Surviving is a son, J. David (Barbara) Abshear of Cape Carteret, North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael (Peggy) Abshear of Cape Carteret, and Tirza (Tony) Sarro of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; 5 great grandchildren, Michelle Whitt, Emily Abshear, Zachary, Isaac and Scott Sarro; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, Indiana.

The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine handled the arrangements.
