Mary Lou Carr, age 86, of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday September 05, 2018. She was born November 21, 1931, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Ruth (Curtis) Hall and the late Noble Magness. She was the oldest of two daughters. Her sister Darlene Ann (Gene) Barnum of Indiana, proceeded her in death.
Mary Lou married the love of her life, John Patrick Carr January 28, 1950 in Indiana. They were married for 46 years before John passed away, February 19, 1996.
An abundance of love filled their home with 7 beautiful children that Mary Lou adored and was the pride of her life. The late Cheryl Snyder having 3 children, Tim Bates of Oregon, Matt (Renie) Bates of Colorado, and Nick (Sarah) Snyder of Centerville. The late John M. Carr of Dayton; Rick (Shelly) Carr of Huber Heights, having 2 children, Adam (Tarah) Carr of Dublin, Sarah (Mark) Hall of Huber Heights; David Carr of Bellefontaine, having 5 children, Katie (Nick) Halm of Perrysburg, Josh Carr of Bellefontaine, Tasha Marie Carr of Zanesfield, Emily (Brock) Coyer of Bellefontaine, Clay (Katie) Carr of Bellefontaine, and Logan Carr of Bellefontaine; Greg (Mandi) Carr of West Mansfield, having 5 children, Tricia (Andy) Birt of Bellefontaine, Erica (Eric) Thompson of Wapakoneta, Shannon Marie Carr of Milford Center, Justus Cole Black Carr of West Mansfield, and James Gabe Carr of West Mansfield. The late Daniel Carr of Bellefontaine, having 1 child, Sean Carr of Sidney. George Patrick Carr of Bellefontaine. From these beautiful children and grandchildren, Mary Lou was given the wonderful gifts of 28 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Mary Lou took special pride in her only niece, Angie (Bruce) Gerdom of Indiana.
Mary Lou had many pets through the years with each one of them holding a special place in her heart. Mary Lou leaves behind a beloved puppy Bonnie Sue.
Mary Lou dedicated her life to her family and took delight in watching the family grow with each new marriage, grandchild, great grandchild and great-great grandchild. Mary Lou was a devote Catholic and over the years her faith grew stronger, which is evident in her last words to her family; “I love you all, I love you all very much and thank you.”
Father Shawn Landenwitch will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the St. Patricks Catholic Church in Bellefontaine.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
