Mary Conger

Mary Irene Conger, age 74 of Pickrelltown, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 5, 2015 at 10:35pm.

She was born to the late Anson “Bud” Alspaugh and Ruth Harshbarger on February 28, 1941. Mary attended Zanesfield-Monroe High School. She was a majorette and on the cheerleading team.

Wintering in Florida and spending summers in Ohio with family and friends provided the best of both worlds to her. Watching NASCAR and sports, playing cards, and late-night mahjong parties with her friends were among her favorite things to do. She also enjoyed serving on the social committee of the Holiday Park community in Tavares. The Pickrelltown community was proud of her many years of planting and maintaining flowers on the Veteran’s Monument.

She is survived by her husband Bill; her loving sisters, Naomi (Bill) Heminger and Kay (Pete) Hamm; sons Kevin Johnson, Greg Johnson, and Brent (Steve Queenan) Johnson; Stepson TJ (Jill) Conger; She also leaves behind numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Eugene “Ike” Alspaugh.

The family wishes to thank all of those who visited, prayed and shared concern for her during her recent illness.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Monroe Community Church in Pickrelltown, Ohio.
