Mary Coons

Mary L. Coons, 96, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 6:30 A.M. Sunday, October 02, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 18, 1914, the daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Fox) Bolen as well as several brothers and sisters.

On May 8, 1935, she married Brayton L. Coons, who preceded her in death January 1, 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Delores Joanne Reed of Bellefontaine; her son, Jerry (Lois) Coons of West Liberty, Ohio; two sisters; Edith McCarty of Bellefontaine and Myrtle Clapsaddle of Kenton, Ohio; and her special niece, Norma Jean Haughn of Canal Winchester, Ohio.

She dearly loved her grandchildren, Douglas Reed of Wisconsin, Justin (Giti) Coons of Columbus, and Kathryn Coons of Dublin; and her great grandchildren, Lindsay and MacKenzie Reed, Devin and Casey Coons, and Karlee Ann Lucas.

She was a lifelong resident of Logan and Union Counties. She was known by family and friends for her diligence and hard work. Her family remembers wonderful meals, playing cards, watching sports, handmade gifts, free haircuts and lots of love.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with Rev. Henry Brooks officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the York Center Cemetery in Union County following the funeral service at 12:30 P.M.
