Mary Cox

Mary Joe Cox, 88, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Oakmont Nursing & Rehab Center in Katy, Texas. She was born in Delphos, Ohio, October 14, 1920, to the late Arthur & Edna Davis Putman. She married Albert Eugene Cox and he preceded her in death in 1968. A sister, Evelyn Webb, also preceded her in death.

Surviving is a son, Jeffrey E. (Helena) Cox of Houston, Texas, and a daughter, Leslie (John) Garza of Greer, South Carolina; a sister, Betty Schnieder of DeKalb, Illinois, and 3 grandchildren, Grayson Cox of Austin, Texas, Lauren Godo of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Lindsay Godo of Greer, South Carolina.

Mary was the Assistant Postmaster in Roundhead for many years and formerly attended the Roundhead Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Roundhead V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will conduct a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the Roundhead Cemetery in Roundhead, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Ohio 1373 Grandview Ave. Suite 200 Columbus, Ohio 43212-2804

The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center handled the arrangements.
